What is CBT?
CBT stands for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. It is an approach that focuses on identifying and adjusting unhelpful or irrational thought patterns that impact our feelings and behaviors. Put simply, how your thoughts and feelings impact your behavior. It is an evidence-based treatment that can be very effective for anxiety and depression, among other concerns.
What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a form of therapy that helps people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. This is done by using bi-lateral stimulation. I use a device that sends alternating vibrations in your hands to achieve results. This treatment can be used for children, teens, and adults. It ‘looks’ different for children than for adults, yet both yields desired results.
